The mega gas giant planet has an entrancing blue haze and crossing white gas streams that make it look like a star sapphire floating in space. Yet beyond its beauty are the riches. Koss is heavily mined for its gases and the physically unstable but precious metals, minerals and rock found at the pressure crushing core of the planet. One of these core materials gives the planet it's name. Kossite is an extremely versatile and valuable mineral.

The only inhabitants of the planet are its miners that live across the many low orbit gas platforms that are owned and operated by a few powerful corporations. The most powerful company, controlling the defacto capital platform and nearly half of the mining production of the planet, is Fidge & Co. Most people born on Koss die on Koss. It is not a place that is easy to leave.
