The Exo is kept at bay by the armada and military force kept at a constant state of readiness on Scalabis, a massive military base on a moon that shares its name in orbit around the gas giant Koss. It's main assignment is to patrol the Exo and heavily protect the precious trade goods flowing through New Victoria into the Middle sector via the Vimana Flotilla and eventually the Inner sector. Military life on Scalabis is brutal and often boring.

Soldiers are often drawn to the vices and pleasures provided by the Sovereign to placate the soldiers between battles and bought at the black markets that proliferate on the moons they are assigned to protect. Corruption of these soldiers is easy and it is a well known recruiting center for Constellation Corps.
